Today is the day that Falcons head coach and GM Thomas Dimitroff have been dreading. It is the day that you have to tell 22 men that they no longer have a job with your organization. It is never easy to be let go from any job, especially when it has been a childhood dream. But for the players who are cut today, they have to keep in mind that they are not being told that they are not good enough to play football. They are simply being released because there just is not enough room on Atlanta’s talented roster.

Falcons Battle Against Jags, For Final Spots


The Atlanta Falcons are preparing for their final exhibition game tonight against the Jacksonville Jaguars. In general, the final game of the preseason is somewhat meaningless, at least for the starters who have secured a position on the roster. But for the players who are on the bubble, knowing that the team must cut 22 more players by Saturday to trim their roster from 75 players down to 53, this game has plenty of meaning.
