Falcons Talk

July 2nd, 2009 | by Tupac4Congress |

Welcome Everybody! I’m a new person in the Fanball Blog Network and look forward to bringing you the news of the Atlanta Falcons. Feel free to contact me if you have any opinions, insights, or constructive criticism on the blog. I would like to thank the Fanball team for bringing me to this site and letting me have the opportunity to manage this blog. Hopefully, I can bring something good to the table. Now let’s get this thing rolling!

Matt Ryan is the reason to believe in Atlanta after his stellar rookie season. Many Falcons fans are hoping they don’t have to see the sophomore slump because Matt Ryan is a very pivotal part to the Falcons offense, much like any QB in the NFL. This year the Falcons are putting out a high octane offense in Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, Tony Gonzalez, and Roddy White.

Tony brings a great personality to the team and brings in a lot of great talent. Tony is one of the most inspiring players in the NFL and this will be a great asset for the Atlanta Falcons. Many believe he can help Matt Ryan mature into an even better QB and with Gonzalez at TE, it will take a lot of pressure off Matt Ryan.

Now with the NFL downtime. Many major sports seem to be taking it’s place as of now. The NHL & NBA are also in the off season signing process. The Detroit Pistons made the biggest splash in Free Agency yesterday signing Charlie V and Ben Gordon. This will bring a whole new game to the Pistons offense. Now with Rip Hamilton, Charlie V, and Ben Gordon that will make for three UCONN Huskies players in the projected starting lineup. Much of the time, Jim Calhoun (UCONN Coach) gets great players and turns them into really smart basketball players.

The NHL finished the Stanley Cup with the Pittsburgh Penguins winning, but this year the Blackhawks look to get to the Stanley Cup with the huge signing of Marian Hossa. Hossa is known for leaving Pittsburgh after he thought that Detroit had a better shot to win the title. After all, Hossa left for Detriot and Pittsburgh beats the Red Wings in the Stanley Cup. Hossa still has no rings and Sidney Crobsy is laughing at him. Hossa signed a 12 year deal with the Blackhawks who have a very young talented team with Pat Kane leading the way. Many fans are saying the Hossa signing wasn’t smart at all because he doesn’t do anything when playoff time comes around and I utterly agree.

Let’s get back to some Falcons new and start by saying Mike Peterson is indeed a great player on the football field and now he is an even better person off the football field. Mike Peterson has been holding several charitable fundraisers for the Mike Peterson organization. Peterson held a Youth Football Camp for 8-17 year olds in Gainesville, FL. The camp featured former NFL players and the camp was free to all participants. Peterson is creating a foundation to give back to the Atlanta and Jacksonville areas. He deserves great recognition for this task. All information can be found here at Mike Peterson. Just click on his name and it will lead you directly to his website.
