Money In The Bank

November 28th, 2009 | by Tupac4Congress |

In honor of having “The Who” picked for the Super Bowl halftime show, I thought I show you guys a clip of what there all about. I’m not a big fan of “The Who”, but “Daughtry” really did a stellar job at halftime on Thanksgiving when the Oakland Raiders vs. Dallas Cowboys battled. I don’t think any thing can be more worse than the infamous Janet Jackson scene at halftime.

Wow! What a week though, with the great slate of Thanksgiving games than, the shopping on Black Friday, okay maybe that was horrible. I noticed in the Green Bay Packers vs Detroit Lions game, that Calvin Johnson was limping like the whole game and still giving his heart out there. When Johnson hauled in that touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford, I was very surprised because I thought he would have no impact on the game because he was hurt. In the Oakland Raiders vs. Dallas Cowboys game, the Raiders were just horrible. I really feel bad for Tashard Choice because he could be a starter in the league and the Cowboys have him dangled on the bench. I couldn’t tune into the NFL Network game because I can’t afford it, but I watched the highlights on ESPN and I must say Congratulations to the Broncos for getting back on track. Josh McDaniels might have to do some apology cards because he got caught up in the emotion of the game and dropped a bomb. It’s really a shame the Network couldn’t have picked this up because that would have not been an issue this week and all the talk would have been about, Josh McDaniels helping the Broncos get back on track.

Back to the Falcons news, the Falcons will saddle up against the 1-9 Tampa Bay Bucs this week and my friends have been saying “Buck You” to me.

Michael Turner Status – Go or No Go?
As of right now, Michael Turner is listed as questionable. The game is in the early slate of games on Sunday and that could cause havoc for fantasy owners. Turner has been limited this week in practice, but I would expect more carries to go to Jason Snelling either way. Snelling put up 2 rushing touchdowns last week and he is a very big bruiser by the goal line. If I was the doctor, I’d recommend starting another half back if you have one, but if Jason Snelling is in the free agency, I would suggest giving him a whirl.

I believe, even without Michael Turner that the Falcons should be fine. I’m worried about the defense of the Falcons and if they could hold Cadillac Williams to minimal yards. The Falcons defense is not in good shape after that OT loss to Eli Manning and the New York ‘Football’ Giants.

I’m still trying to figure out if this is good news or not, but rookie cornerback Christopher Owens is the next up for a starting cornerback spot. It was not clear if Owens will become the fourth new starting cornerback this season, but he is right now on deck for the starting job.

Quote of the Week
“We’ve been having trouble back there, so we have to try something new,” defensive end John Abraham said. “Everybody knows that after the Giants game, we were kind of exposed a little bit.”

This is not good news for the Falcons and that is coming from a defensive lineman none the less, but I’m glad to see John Abraham come up and saying something. I just hope for a better off season because the Falcons really need some help on defense. The secondary is a very weak spot for I and the Falcons. I hate talking about it weak by weak because the issue is not improving and the Falcons really did get exposed by the Giants in OT.

Hopefully, the Falcons offense in Matt Ryan, Tony Gonzalez, and Roddy White can light up the scoreboard, so we don’t have to worry about the secondary issue. Whoever is starting at corner – Brian Williams, Tye Hill, Ben Grimes, or newly elected Christopher Owens. We need to step up because playoff time is coming around and I don’t want to sit around watching them without my beloved Atlanta Falcons.

So let’s go Falcons, let’s knock around rookie QB Josh Freeman and welcome him to a division rival battle. Show the Bucs how it is done in Hot-Lanta. To my knowledge, the Falcons turn around begins here and to all a good night!
